The New York Knicks have been engaged in trade discussions with the Los Angeles Lakers. The Knicks are said to be interested in acquiring Kyle Kuzma. However, talks between the two teams is at a bit of a standstill as Thursday's deadline draws near.

According to a report from Ian Begley of SNY, the Lakers would be interested in acquiring Marcus Morris from the Knicks in the event of a Kuzma trade. The Knicks, who are currently holding a 15-36 overall record, are believed to be open to trading Morris, but at what price?

Via Ian Begley of SNY:

The Knicks and Lakers have touched base about Kyle Kuzma, SNY sources confirm, but completing a two-team trade involving Kuzma would be complicated.

As NBA TV's Eric Pinus notes, the Lakers would probably need to send multiple players to the Knicks to take on Marcus Morris' $15 million salary.

A Kuzma to New York deal could also expand to more players or multiple teams to satisfy NBA trade rules.

The Lakers would obviously be looking for a nice return in a deal for Kuzma, as he's become one of the more promising young prospects in the NBA. His production has taken a dip this season, but that's mostly because he's the third or fourth option on a team consisting of Anthony Davis and LeBron James.

Kuzma has made 40 appearances with the Lakers in this campaign (six starts), racking up averages of 13.1 points on 43.7 percent shooting from the field (33.7 percent from beyond the arc), 4.4 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 25.0 minutes per outing.

This season's trade deadline is Thursday at 3:00 p.m. ET. Let's see if Kuzma is dealt between now and then.
