Former United States President Barack Obama poked fun at the New York Knicks during a recent interview with Desus & Mero.

Desus Nice and The Kid Mero, who are both longtime Knicks fans, played a pick-up game with Sen. Cory Booker and both guys were pretty awful. Obama, who is really good at basketball, trolled the two by saying they could at least play for the Knicks.

The Knicks haven't had a winning record or made the playoffs since the 2012-13 season. The franchise has been a walking disaster under owner James Dolan and fans of the team have been clamoring for him to sell the team.

During the summer of 2019, the Knickerbockers not only missed out on Zion Williamson, but they had to watch Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving sign with the other team in New York, the Brooklyn Nets.

To make matters even worse, neither Durant nor Irving even met with Dolan in free agency.

Barack Obama, who is a Chicago Bulls fan, hasn't had much to cheer about lately either. However, the Knicks are the NBA's punching bag. Fans of the club are praying that new president Leon Rose and head coach Tom Thibodeau can save the franchise and bring the team back to relevance.

As currently constructed, New York's roster is headlined by RJ Barrett, Mitchell Robinson, Julius Randle, Austin Rivers and rookie Obi Toppin.
