New York Knicks forward Bobby Portis strongly believes that the team will have a really good season.

In an interview with David Yapkowitz of Basketball Insiders, Portis acknowledges the fact that things won't be easy for the Knicks at first, but he added that the team will work collectively to get better every day.

“It’s going to be competitive every day, it’s going to be a grind, it’s going to be difficult at first, but I think as things slowly progress, it’s going to go really, really well for us. I think we’re going to be really good. We got a lot of guys who can do a lot of different things with the basketball.

Portis added that one of the Knicks' strengths will be their versatility.

“In today’s NBA game, you need a lot of guys who can stretch the floor, shoot the ball, put the ball on the floor and make plays for others. I think we have a lot of versatile guys on our team and I think that’s where our team is at right now.”

The Knicks, who missed out on their top free-agent targets, decided to form a roster that's filled rookies, sophomores, and young veterans; all of which have a ton of potential. Portis himself is just heading into his fifth season, but he's already one of the most underrated forwards in the league.

This upcoming season, the Knicks are expected to be led by Julius Randle, Dennis Smith Jr., Mitchell Robinson, and this year's third overall pick, RJ Barrett. All of these players share the same sentiments with Portis, as they are all confident about what the team can do and achieve over the next 10 months.
