New York Knicks owner James Dolan has a knack for making headlines. Unfortunately, it's usually for all the wrong reasons.

Dolan's most recent fiasco came on Saturday. After the Knicks' 102-94 loss at home against the Sacramento Kings, Dolan was leaving the arena. A fan shouted at Dolan, telling him to sell the team. The Knicks owner then responded by getting into an argument with the fan, threatening to have him banned from the team's games for life.

The fan was later escorted out of the arena by security. The Madison Square Garden Company released a statement regarding the incident, but it is unclear whether the fan was ultimately banned or not.

Former Knicks center Charles Oakley recently responded to Dolan's handling of the incident and called out NBA Commissioner Adam Silver to take action, via Frank Isola of The Athletic.

“The commissioner needs to step in and do something, suspend him, something,” Charles Oakley said. “He can’t keep getting away with it.”

Charles Oakley was the beloved leader of the Knicks in the '90s. But the fan favorite has been at odds with James Dolan ever since he was arrested and escorted out of Madison Square Garden following a 2017 game. This resulted in a one-year ban from the arena. Oakley sued Dolan in response, and the two have been publicly feuding since.

Many around the league see Dolan as a problem, including many New York fans. This season, the team has the worst record in the NBA at 13-54. Judging by what was said in this most recent incident, it seems unlikely Dolan will willingly sell the team. However, it remains to be seen whether commissioner Adam Silver and the league step in and force a change.
