After weeks of deliberation and interviews, the New York Knicks have officially hired David Fizdale as their new head coach, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

According to Wojnarowski, Fizdale's new deal with the Knicks will be a four-year contract.

Fizdale coached the Memphis Grizzlies from 2016 to the end of 2017 when he was let go due to a feud with center Marc Gasol. He coached 101 games and led Memphis to a 50-51 record. Many, however, believed that his firing was premature and that the Grizzlies didn't give him enough of a chance to show what he can do.

Now, he's joining on with a Knicks franchise that just had a change in management last summer and completed the overhaul with his hiring. On top of star Kristaps Porzingis, second-year player Frank Ntilikina, and Tim Hardaway Jr., the Knicks are also projected to have a top 10 pick in this year's 2018 NBA Draft.
