Fizdale coached the Memphis Grizzlies from 2016 to the end of 2017 when he was let go due to a feud with center Marc Gasol. He coached 101 games and led Memphis to a 50-51 record. Many, however, believed that his firing was premature and that the Grizzlies didn't give him enough of a chance to show what he can do.
Now, he's joining on with a Knicks franchise that just had a change in management last summer and completed the overhaul with his hiring. On top of star Kristaps Porzingis, second-year player Frank Ntilikina, and Tim Hardaway Jr., the Knicks are also projected to have a top 10 pick in this year's 2018 NBA Draft.
