After the New York Knicks got blown out by the Cleveland Cavaliers, reports surfaced that head coach David Fizdale's job was in jeopardy after the team's slow start.
Knicks president Steve Mills and general manager Scott Perry addressed the media for several minutes before Fizdale’s press conference following the team’s home loss to the Cavs on Sunday. Mills said he and Perry aren’t happy with how things are going, saying he expected the Knicks to be better.
Now, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting Fizdale's firing is “inevitable” and that a bond was broken between Fizdale and management:
ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski on the Knicks – “He is not safe. His job is very much in peril right now. This is a Knicks team that is in somewhat of a spiral… The dismissal of David Fizdale is inevitable. There was a bond broken between management and their head coach.” pic.twitter.com/l5XeWwHiu7

New York is 2-9 on the season. Owner James Dolan told Mills he’s “disappointed” by the Knicks’ 2-9 start, according to a source that spoke with Frank Isola of The Athletic. Dolan reportedly ordered Mills and Perry to address the media after Sunday’s game.
After missing out on stars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving in free agency, the Knicks used their cap space on Julius Randle, Bobby Portis, Taj Gibson, Marcus Morris, Wayne Ellington, Elfrid Payton and Reggie Bullock. That’s a lot of power forwards on one team
It appears Fizdale is going to be the fall guy, even though RJ Barrett and Bobby Portis showed their support for Fizdale following New York's 120-102 loss to the Chicago Bulls on Monday. At this point, it doesn't mater who is coaching the Knicks. Their roster just isn't good enough to compete.
