New York Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau is hyped about the backcourt trio of Derrick Rose, Alec Burks and Immanuel Quickley.

Heading into the new NBA season, the Knicks will be looking to bounce back and make it to the post-season once again.

Derrick Rose and Alec Burks will intensify the backcourt but coach Tom Thibodeau is looking forward to what Immanuel Quickley can do as his third point guard.

According to Thibodeau, the three “interchangeable” point guards can facilitate plays “real well.” Hence, he is certain the Knicks are “gonna fly around” this season.

“The great value with [Quickle]) is that he plays with Derrick [Rose] and Alec Burk), and so really the point [guard] is interchangeable with those guys,” Thibodeau told The Athletic. “They move the ball and they make plays for each other real well. So, oftentimes, Quickley will bring it up. Derrick will bring it up. Alec could bring it up or we’ll get into dribble-handoffs.”

“We’re gonna fly around,” he vowed.

Quickley, on the other hand, is still learning his trade with the Knicks but already loving how Thibodeau pushes him to be at his best.

“A little scowl sometimes,” Quickley said of Thibodeau via The Athletic. “I love it. I love it. … That’s what you want.”

“You want somebody that’s gonna push you, hold you accountable,” he added. “And I don’t smile to be disrespectful. I smile because I really love when somebody gets on me because it’s a challenge.”

Last season, Quickley averaged 11 points, two assists and two rebounds in 19 minutes of action per game, an impressive tally for an NBA rookie.
