Derrick Rose is off to a terrific start in his second stint with the New York Knicks. The youngest MVP in NBA history notched a personal milestone against the Sacramento Kings at Madison Square Garden with his immaculate shooting in the first quarter.

The 32-year-old speedster scored 11 points in the first 12 minutes on 5-for-5 shooting from the floor. This marks the first time Derrick Rose has gone perfect from the floor in any quarter since 2017, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

Derrick Rose stayed perfect from the field in the first half, as he drained his only bucket attempt in the second period.

The three-time All-Star was recently reunited with his old Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau after the Knicks traded Dennis Smith Jr. and a 2021 second-round pick to the Detroit Pistons for Derrick Rose.

For a player with so many individual accolades as Rose has, going 5-for-5 from the field in one quarter is not much of a big deal. Then again, we all know about Derrick Rose's valiant fight to return from career-threatening injuries, which just so happens to be one of the most inspiring comebacks in all of professional sports.

The fact that he is healthy enough to play and produce at the rate he's going is truly admirable. While he is obviously no longer the franchise star he once was, it's his attitude and acceptance of his new role that makes Derrick Rose a gem of a player.

No wonder the Knicks pursued a reunion with Derrick Rose to bring leadership to the team's current youth-infused roster.

Prior to the clash versus the Kings, Derrick Rose had been averaging 10.9 points, 2.7 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.0 steal in seven games in The Big Apple.

Rose is trying to lead the Knicks to the playoffs. With the Eastern Conference being very tightly bunched and few teams creating meaningful separation, New York has a great chance to return to the postseason.
