Current New York Knicks and former Chicago Bulls star Derrick Rose just got himself into the history books.

Rose came into the game against the Indiana Pacers with 11,997 points, and in the first quarter, he had a tough driving layup that made allowed him to surpass over 12,000 career points.

Rose and the New York Knicks are 5-2 on the season. He has gotten back to some stellar play, but obviously isn't playing as good as he did with the Bulls.

When Rose was in Chicago, that's where he racked up most of his points as he had three consecutive Seasons with over 20 points per game. Rose was one of the best scores in the NBA before suffering a career-altering injury.

Rose continues to prove the doubters wrong and is showing everybody that if you keep working hard you can continue to have a successful NBA career after a tough injury.

He's been a major part of the Knicks' success early on this season and all throughout last year as they finally reached the playoffs. He averaged nearly 15 points per game last year in only 26 minutes of play.

Rose and the Knicks are playing some great basketball and he's a big reason why. The future Hall-of-Famer is still an exciting guard to watch. It's incredible what he's been able to accomplish after his injury.

Congratulations to Derrick Rose on scoring 12,000 points in the NBA.
