The New York Knicks have started the season strong, and are beginning to turn some of their doubters into believers. It has also been noticeable that they are playing with a new system, which appears to be a more comfortable one for their players, who enjoy competing this season while on the court.

Even the attention of L.A. Clippers head coach Doc Rivers has been caught by the team, who he says are very fun to watch these days. He also added, via Fred Kerber of the New York Post, that he thinks the players move more freely, and that they are playing at a higher pace so far this season.

“They’re just playing freer. It just seems like they have a whole different spirit,” Rivers said “It’s fun to watch them play.”

“They play hard, they’re moving the ball. They play at a higher pace. They’re attacking the paint. You could see it early, early in the year, like the first couple times you saw them, ‘That’s a different team.’ For whatever reason. Sometimes it’s more just their mindset, their spirit, whatever you want to call it.

“They’re an enjoyable team to watch.”

The Knicks' record definitely supports Rivers’ claim, as they currently have a 9-7 win-loss slate, good for sixth in the Eastern Conference. Kristaps Porzingis is playing at an All-Star level, and is leading the team in scoring, blocks and PER, according to ESPN. Together with his supporting cast that consists of Tim Hardaway Jr., Frank Ntilikina, Courtney Lee and Enes Kanter, just to name a few, they have built a strong chemistry on the court, and are looking geared to make a run at a playoff spot this season.

Should the Knicks make it that far, it will be the first time they’ll see action in the postseason in five years, which proves further their improved game under their new system. As long as it’s in place, more exciting plays and games that are fun to watch can be expected from them to continue as the season progresses, which could also convert more fans to root for their success.
