New York Knicks forward Doug McDermott recently made a trip back to a city he used to play — Chicago.

McDermott was drafted 11th by the Denver Nuggets in 2014, but was traded to the Bulls on draft night. Since then, he's moved around the NBA, making a stop in Oklahoma City before landing with the Knicks in the Carmelo Anthony trade.

After playing against the Bulls, McDermott gave his thoughts on how it felt to be back in Chicago for the first time as a visitor, per K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune.

It's always strange when NBA players make their first visit to a city where they used to play. The more high profile the player, the crazier reception they receive. Many times, boos rain down from the stands for the entire 48 minutes of play.

But McDermott is a role player, so maybe none of those things really happened.

It's also nice to see McDermott not have bad blood toward the organization that moved on from him. He spent two years with the Bulls and did get some playing time.

But that chapter of his career is over, and now he can move on to be a difference-maker for the Knicks.
