Just a few hours after Enes Kanter denied that he had made his decision on his player option with the New York Knicks for next year, it appears now that he has made the decision.

Kanter posted a picture on Twitter that says “Make Knicks Great Again” and shows him sitting at a podium in front of the American Flag. It appears to be a play off of Donald Trump's campaign slogan “Make America Great Again.”

It also seems to confirm that he is opting into his $18.6 million option for next year, and that will give him an opportunity to be coached by David Fizdale. There was some question if Kanter would leave the Knicks, but it seems that Fizdale was a big draw to get him to come back.

“With Coach Fizdale, I want to stay more,” Kanter said recently via SNY. “I know his mentality, I know how much freedom he gives to his players. It's going to help my decision for sure. I think he's going to change a lot of things. He seems like a relationship with him is like a friendship relationship. It's not a player-coach relationship. I talked to him for two hours and it gives you so much confidence.”

Kanter was a veteran presence for a very young team that had a l0t of growing pains. He played in 71 games averaging 14.1 points and 11 rebounds.

If Kanter had hit the open market there would have been a good amount of interest in his services, but the chance to play another year in the Big Apple outweighed pursuing those options.
