The NBA world is in a frenzy after news broke that Jimmy Butler wants a trade out of Minnesota, and that world includes Knicks big man Enes Kanter. The Timberwolves star has three teams he'd be willing to sign an extension with: the New York Knicks, Los Angeles Clippers, and Brooklyn Nets.

Now that it's clear that a Butler trade to the Knicks is, at the very least, a possibility, Enes Kanter is voicing an interest in Butler. Kanter is never shy on social media and he's also becoming one of the Knicks most active recruiters.

Kanter's reaction is similar to the way a lot of Knicks fans must feel right now. Butler is a bonafide star and heĀ would make the Knicks an immediate playoff contender. Not to mention, any time a player of Butler's caliber shows interest in the Knicks, fans feel a jolt of excitement.

Knicks fans were quick to point out that if a trade for Butler were to happen, Kanter could be involved in that deal with his expiring contract. It's unclear exactly what the Knicks would need to give up to get Butler, but it is unlikely that the two sides reach a deal.

The Knicks are already on record against trading assets for a player that they can sign in the offseason without giving up any young players or draft picks. Jimmy Butler is a free agent at the end of the season, so interest from the Knicks seems like a long shot at this point.

Even if Kanter is actively pushing to ā€œMake Knicks Great Again,ā€ the front office and Kanter likely differ on how they plan to do that.
