In a recent interview, Oklahoma City Thunder superstar point guard Russell Westbrook came to the defense of his former teammate and current New York Knicks outcast Enes Kanter.

Aside from his recent demotion from his team's starting lineup, the Knicks big man is also currently facing some trouble with the Turkish government, who have reportedly sought for an international arrest warrant for Kanter.

Westbrook admitted that he had very little knowledge of Kanter's current dilemmas, but still had nothing but good things to say about his former Thunder teammate. Kanter came across the interview, and was very appreciative of Westbrook's support.

Kanter has missed the Knicks' past three games due to an illness, but there is some who believe that this absence comes in the wake of the team trying to push for a trade. With Kanter on the last year of his contract and with the Knicks not looking to renew the big man's deal this summer, it appears that the team have placed him on the trading block.

The Knicks are set to host Westbrook and the rest of Thunder on Monday at the Madison Square Garden in New York, but it would not be a surprise if Kanter ends up missing that one as well.

Kanter is obviously going through a tough time right now, and Westbrook's message of support will definitely go a long way for the embattled big man.
