New York Knicks big man Enes Kanter is a wanted man in his home country. The Turkish government is reportedly seeking a four-year prison sentence for Kanter for insulting President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

But ever the defiant character, Kanter responded to those threats of his potential imprisonment with a mocking tweet in Turkish.

The basic gist of Kanter’s tweet was that he wants four more years on top of the four the government wants to put him away for because of his insults directed toward the Turkish president.

Kanter has gone against some high-profile adversaries over the last few months. From his public defense of Oklahoma City and the Thunder after Kevin Durant’s criticism (via his burner Twitter account) to going face-to-face with LeBron James earlier this season to his skirmishes with the Turkish government, Kanter sure knows how to pick his fights.

But in all of those encounters, Kanter has not once given an inch. He’s quickly proving that his tough guy schtick is legit, so much so that he’s actively goading his own government to double his potential prison sentence, which seems insane to even joke about.

That’s just the guy Kanter is, apparently, although here’s hoping the Turkish government doesn’t actually find a way to make Kanter’s mocking threat a reality.
