The New York Knicks are coming off another disappointing finish in the 2017-18 NBA season. As a result, it appears center Enes Kanter is weighing out all his options this offseason.

Opting in for an $18.6 million deal may seem like a no-brainer for Kanter. However, according to ESPN's Ian Begley, his looming status has caught the attention of the Milwaukee Bucks:

Enes Kanter hasn’t yet made a decision on his $18.6 million player option. Opposing teams expect him to opt in. But if Kanter opts out, multiple teams – including Milwaukee – have expressed interest internally in discussing a potential contract with the 26-year-old center.

It is unclear why Kanter is taking his time with his decision. He is coming off a solid year with the Knicks after he was traded prior to the season. He averaged 14.1 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game while quickly became a fan favorite thanks to his leadership and toughness on the court.

All indications suggested that Kanter would potentially settle down in New York. He has even done his part to help the Knicks recruit Cleveland Cavaliers small forward LeBron James this offseason. However, it seems Kanter would like to test his prospects in free agency.

It goes without saying that Milwaukee is certainly an intriguing option. Although it may not have all the glitz and glamour that comes with playing in New York, they do boast a far more talented roster. Perhaps Kanter's desire to compete for a championship in the near future has played a part in him holding off on his decision. Regardless, it will be interesting to see how he approaches the summer.
