New York Knicks general manager Scott Perry has a lot of work to do this summer after finishing with the worst record in the league this season. The Knicks are expected to be among the busiest teams in the league – both in free agency and in the trade market.

The Knicks have created enough cap space to target to top-tier free agents in the offseason after parting ways with former franchise player Kristaps Porzingis.

Several names are already being linked to the Knicks, and Perry thinks that the appeal of New York would be enough to get at least a consideration from star free agents.

New York has not advanced to the playoffs since the 2012-13 NBA season. They finished with a 17-65 record this season, tying the worst record in franchise history.

But while they have struggled in recent years, Perry thinks that top players would still love playing in New York.

“It’s the greatest city in the world. There’s a lot of appeal here,” Perry said via Marc Berman of the New York Post. “Even though the team has struggled, it’s a definite attraction to becoming a player in this city who can help turn this organization around. I think that’s something that gives us excitement that it’s out there.”

Golden State Warriors superstar Kevin Durant is said to be on top of their priority list. Durant will be a free agent after the season, and most fans and analysts believe that he would strongly consider playing in New York.

The Knicks are also being linked to Boston Celtics guard Kyrie Irving and Charlotte Hornets star Kemba Walker.
