The Sacramento Kings are looking for a new president of basketball operations after Vlade Divac resigned from his post. While New York Knicks general manager Scott Perry had been considered a possible candidate for the job, Sam Amick and Shams Charania of The Athletic are reporting he is not among the execs Sacramento has requested permission to speak with.

Perry was shockingly not fired by new Knicks boss Leon Rose, so it appears he's going to be sticking around in the Big Apple, at least for the 2020-21 season.

Scott Perry signed a five-year deal with the Knicks in 2017. He was actually with the Kings before that.

With that being said, it makes sense that the Kings aren't going back to Perry or even interviewing him. The franchise has been a walking disaster for years and needs new voices running the team, not old ones.

As for the Knicks, they'll have the No. 8 pick in the 2020 draft. New York fans are certainly looking forward to seeing who Rose and new head coach Tom Thibodeau are going to take. The Knicks haven't had a winning record since the 2012-13 campaign, so there's a lot of pressure on Rose and Thibs to save the organization.

The roster in New York is headlined by RJ Barrett, Mitchell Robinson, Kevin Knox, Dennis Smith Jr. and Frank Ntilikina. Most pundits around the NBA expect the team to try trading veteran power forward Julius Randle this offseason.
