The New York Knicks fell to the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday, 129-114, for their 12th loss of the season against nine wins. But one positive in the defeat was another strong showing from rookie guard Immanuel Quickley, who finished with 25 points for the second straight game.

Quickley also added three rebounds, three assists, and a block in 27 minutes off the bench. He had an efficient scoring game, shooting 9-of-16 from the field, including 7-of-8 from two-pointers. The reason for the 21-year old’s marksmanship from inside the arc was his barrage of floaters, which he used to great effect against the Clippers.

Quickley, who was praised by Clippers star Paul George after the game, was not only able to show his handles in traffic but also seems to have mastered the art of the floater as there was little defenders could do to stop his high-arcing shot. Even after the defeat, Knicks fans couldn’t get enough of the rookie’s impressive floater game on social media.

It was another impressive performance for the former Kentucky standout after he finished with 25 points, five rebounds, and three assists in their 102-81 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers last Friday. The Knicks will try to bounce back from the loss to the Clippers when they play the Chicago Bulls on Monday.

In 16 games, the 25th overall pick of the 2020 NBA Draft is averaging 11.6 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 2.5 assists while shooting 39.5 percent from the field and 37.9 percent from beyond the arc. But more importantly, Immanuel Quickley has been playing better than his numbers show as of late, and his deadly floaters have given Knicks fans more reasons for optimism in what has been a decent campaign.
