It has been a few months since the New York Knicks made the decision to officially part ways with former team president Phil Jackson.

During his tenure with the organization, Jackson had attempted to implement his vaunted triangle offense onto the team but there remained plenty of struggles on the court. This also led to some backlash from the players being against the use of it in the modern NBA offensive playing style that focuses on 3-point shooting and spacing the floor.

That said, recently signed point guard Jarrett Jack recently told Ian Begley of ESPN that he doesn't see any trace of the triangle offense heading into next season.

Jarrett Jack says he's talked to Knicks coach Jeff Hornacek about a number of topics during informal workouts at the Knicks training facility, including a transition to new offense for the Knicks. Jack was asked if there have been any principles of the triangle offense – which the Knicks ran last season under Phil Jackson – in Hornacek's new offense. “If there are he hasn't implemented them yet,” Jack said. “So far it's a lot, (a) much more fast-paced style offense. Moving, cutting. A lot more ball movement. But from what I understand that's going to be the crux of it right now.”

This shouldn't come as much of a surprise given that the Knicks are trying to shift things away from that scheme. Head coach Jeff Hornacek is set to have his first go-around without Jackson hovering above him to implement the triangle into his offensive game plan.

New York is hoping that shakeup will provide an opportunity to change the direction of the franchise with it now being centered around third-year forward Kristaps Porzingis as the centerpiece of the offense. It will have to begin with altering the offense to the modernized style of play around the league that is much different than what the triangle aims to provide.
