Julius Randle just made New York Knicks history, as he is the first player from the team to average at least 20 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in the first six games of the season, per Justin Kutbatko of Basketball-Reference.

Randle accomplished the feat during Saturday's 106-102 win against the Indiana Pacers, putting up 12 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists and two steals.

Randle, who is in his second season with the Knicks, has a career average of 16.2 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.8 assists. The power forward out of Kentucky was the seventh pick of the 2014 NBA draft.

With the way he is playing, there is no doubt he's a big part of the equation as the Knicks try to make the playoffs and return to relevance after years of being the laughingstock of the league.

The Knicks are now 3-3, as they have won games against competitive teams such as the Milwaukee Bucks and Pacers. The ‘Bockers last made the playoffs in 2013, having remained a bottom-feeder in the Eastern Conference ever since.

As a young 19-year-old, Randle experienced a broken leg in the 2014 season with the Los Angeles Lakers, per Baxter Holmes of ESPN. Since then, he has put up solid numbers for when he played for the Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans. Now, he has made history with a struggling franchise, which definitely is a sight for the sore eyes of Knicks fans.

Julius Randle needs to remain healthy for this season in order for the Knicks to have a chance at the playoffs. Along with the young core of the franchise, including Obi Toppin and RJ Barrett, Randle has the opportunity to reinstall hope in the fans of the Big Apple franchise. Randle has the tools to be a dominant player in the NBA, but he needs to put up consistent numbers if New York wants a chance to turn things around.
