New York Knicks big man Julius Randle is finding himself in the center of plenty of NBA conversations. Following a victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday night, though, he shifted the attention elsewhere.
In what was certainly just an honest moment — and an opinion I agree with — Randle was asked about scoreboard watching. In reply, he didn’t hold back.
“People who say they’re not watching are liars,” Knicks talent Julius Randle said, via ESPN.
Of course, they are watching. He is a billion percent correct. This is especially true for teams that prefer certain seeds and/or are fighting for their NBA playoff lives.
As for the game itself, Julius Randle scored 25 points for New York, continuing his quest to showcase how players can still develop after a few seasons in the league. Honestly, his development hasn’t been linear; though his insane jump in quality of play has come as a pleasant surprise to the fine folk in The Big Apple.
With the NBA Playoffs now looming, a good New York Knicks team is hoping Julius Randle, alongside sensational wing RJ Barrett, happens to be hoping that they can make some noise. Pressure is on everyone else come the postseason, as these guys have already exceeded all expectations.
