The New York Knicks returned home on Monday night and notched a 111-96 win over the San Antonio Spurs. While it seemed like a normal victory, as with most games at Madison Square Garden, it wasn't without the typical histrionics.

Just days after issuing an apology to Knicks fans, star forward Julius Randle got the ultimate response: Chants of “Obi Toppin!” Yep, Knicks fans trolled Randle by calling for his replacement on the floor. He also got booed when he made blunders. This also begs the question: How did Toppin feel?

But while hearing your own fans insult you could be unnerving, Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau said Randle will easily brush it off (via ESPN).

“Look, he’s a pro. He’ll navigate through it. The important thing is to lock into the team, your job, the next day, winning, your opponent. Get ready to go so you can play well. And look, when we play well, we know how much our fans love this team and we love them.”

The 27-year-old Randle, the reigning Most Improved Player, recently admitted that he's aware that it's extra difficult playing for the Knicks compared to other teams. With his dip in performance, Knicks fans have certainly expressed their displeasure with the All-Star forward.

But as Thibodeau said, winning changes everything. Randle can only hope the Knicks rack up a bunch of victories so he'll get back into the favor of their fans.
