Barely a couple of months as a member of the New York Knicks and new recruit Julius Randle is already singing the praises of his new teammates. Recently, the former seventh overall pick had his sights set on Knicks big man Mitchell Robinson, who Randle believes has a tremendous future ahead of him in the league.

“I'm excited man, that kid is going to be amazing,” Randle said, via Ian Begley of SNY. During his free agency meeting with the Knicks, Randle recalls telling Fizdale, “‘When we played I was like, ‘who is this kid?' Cause every time I went to the basket he was coming out of nowhere. I'm like, ‘Yo, what's going on?'” Randle said with a grin. “I had no clue who he was. He has so much potential now he's only scratching the surface and I'm excited to get, on the court with him.”

Randle's excitement here is a bit infectious, and it really makes one think about all the hype surrounding Robinson and what should be an amazing sophomore campaign for the 21-year-old. Sure, Randle holds some bias being his teammate, but it's hard not to buy in on all the buzz surrounding one of the most promising big men in the league today.

Last season, Robinson averaged 7.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, 0.8 steals, and an astounding 2.4 blocks in just 20.6 minutes of action, and this was with former Knicks starter Enes Kanter still in the picture. Robinson now has a clear path to a starting gig, and playing alongside Randle, this should indeed be a fun frontcourt duo to watch this season.
