Toronto Raptors star Kawhi Leonard had some kind words for New York Knicks fans after Saturday's game between the two teams.

The Raptors went into Madison Square Garden and handed the Knicks a 104-99 defeat, which dropped New York to a league-worst 10-45 overall on the season.

However, even with the franchise clearly struggling, Leonard feels like there's something that shouldn't be overlooked when it comes to Knicks fans:

“They still come out and support the team even with a losing record,” Leonard said, according to the Associated Press. “That's what you want, I guess, from an organization if you're playing for them.”

It has been another trying season for fans of the team, especially considering the recent roster changes that included trading Kristaps Porzingis to the Dallas Mavericks.

But with plenty of cap space following the trade, there is speculation that perhaps Leonard or other upcoming free agents like Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving could choose to make New York their next career destination.

Either way, Knicks fans are eager to see this franchise start heading in the right direction, and it's going to take some major work for that to happen.

Next up is a matchup against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night.
