The New York Knicks and draft lottery prospect Kevin Knox appear to have mutual desires to partner with each other. Recently, Knox’s father, Kevin Knox Sr., said that he thinks that the Knicks are going to take his son as the no. 9 overall pick in this Thursday’s NBA Draft, per Marc Berman of the New York Post.

Kevin Knox Sr., Knox’s father and manager, told The Post he believes the Knicks are considering taking his son with the ninth pick in Thursday’s draft. According to an NBA source, Knox got the better of Michigan State’s Miles Bridges, another projected lottery pick, in their joint workout for the Knicks nine days ago.

There's also Kevin Knox showing the Knickerbockers some love by saying that James Dolan’s team is the NBA equivalent of the Kentucky Wildcats, according to Mike Vorkunov of The Athletic.

Kevin Knox thinks he'd be totally comfortable playing in New York.

“Kentucky is basically the New York Knicks of college basketball.”

Give yourself a couple of seconds to chuckle, scratch your head, and wrap your mind around it.

Maybe Knox had it wrong. Maybe it was the New York Yankees he was trying to compare the Wildcats with, as the Kentucky program and the Bronx Bombers have each won just one title over the past 10 years even though both have seen plenty of seasons over that stretch in which they have had some of the best talents in their respective leagues.

Regardless, the 6-foot-9 Knox is expected to be a lottery pick this Thursday. He averaged 15.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game for the Wildcats last season.
