New York Knicks small forward Kevin Knox thinks he should've been an All-Rookie selection this past season and will use the snub as “motivation” this summer.

Knox's 22 second-team votes were well shy of the cut to make the team. The Knicks are hoping Knox will be more efficient in his second year in the league. The youngster shot just 37.0 percent from the field and 34.3 percent beyond the arc in 2018-19.

“Yeah, of course I deserved to make it,” Knox said, via Stefan Bondy of The New York Daily News. “But it was definitely motivation. I worked hard this summer. That was kind of a chip on my shoulder for me to work hard this summer. Definitely, it was motivation. I’m going to use it for summer. I’m going to keep using it for next year.”

Kevin Knox averaged 12.8 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 75 games this past season. The Knicks, after missing out on Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, will lean on Knox, R.J. Barrett, Dennis Smith Jr. and Mitchell Robinson a lot next season.

New York agreed to free agent deals with Julius Randle, Bobby Portis, Taj Gibson, Elfrid Payton, Wayne Ellington and Reggie Bullock. The veterans will help the young guys on the Knicks learn what it takes to win in the NBA on a nightly basis.
