It's a loaded rookie class with a lot of players who should make big impacts on their teams right away, but that hasn't stopped New York Knicks rookie Kevin Knox from having lofty goals. Knox sat down with Steve Serby of the New York Post and was asked what his goals were for his rookie season and his answer was pretty simple, win Rookie of The Year.

“Rookie of the Year. That’s gonna be on my wall in my room. That’s what I want, that’s what I’m gonna work for. I don’t got it like painted on my wall, it’s just a piece of paper with Rookie of the Year on it, every time I wake up, look at it, just know what I’m going to work for.”

Knox should have a good opportunity to work towards that goal and be the face of the franchise, at least for this year. Kristaps Porzingis is still coming back from his ACL injury and a timetable for when he will return has not been established.

That should give Kevin Knox a chance to lead this team even as a rookie. If he can establish his game without Porzingis that will make the future even more promising for the Knicks. Knox is going to have a lot of competition for the award this year, but he is in as good of a situation as any, to steal the award away. Knox also feels like he has a lot of critics to prove wrong this year, so the motivation is high.

“There’s a lot of people that hate on me, but I’m really willing to prove ’em wrong. There’s a lot of people in my high school that said I wasn’t gonna be here where I am today, but look where I’m at now. So that’s just kind of my motto. That’s kind of how I like it, so it’s a great feeling.”
