Through the first couple of weeks of the season, New York Knicks forward Kristaps Porzingis has gotten off to quite a strong offensive start.

In fact, the 22-year-old currently leads the NBA with the most 30-point performances through his team's first eight games of the season.

Porzingis has fit in smoothly into his new offensive role as the leading scorer following the departure of Carmelo Anthony as he's averaging 29.0 points with 7.8 rebounds per game. He has recorded double-figure made field goals in all but two games while making multiple three-pointers on four occasions.

This has seen him become the youngest player in league history to score 30 or more points in five of the first six games of the season. Porzingis is also the only player in Knicks history to record 30 or more points to accomplish that feat. He also joined Willie Naulls and Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing as the only players in team history to notch at least 30 points in the first two games of the season.

What has been most encouraging is that the Knicks have experienced success as well winning four out of the last five games that included topping the Cleveland Cavaliers on the road. All of this could be just the beginning of a major bounce-back year that could see New York contend for a playoff spot.
