Kristaps Porzingis met with the New York Knicks and the franchise left the meeting with the impression that he prefers to be traded, according to Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.

The Knicks are a walking disaster and Kristaps Porzingis, who is recovering from a torn ACL, wants to play for a winner. KP becomes a restricted free agent after this season.

New York is 10-40 on the season. They have the worst record in the Eastern Conference. Kristaps Porzingis is reportedly concerned with the culture of the franchise.

Before he tore his ACL last season, Porzingis was averaging 22.7 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 48 games while shooting 43.9 percent from the field and 39.5 percent from beyond the arc. Knicks head coach David Fizdale visited Porzingis last summer in Latvia to get to know KP and, by all accounts, the visit went well.

A lot can change during the course of the season, though, and it appears Kristaps Porzingis doesn't trust the Knicks to build a winner in The Big Apple. New York hasn't made the playoffs since 2013.

The NBA trade deadline is Feb 7. If the Knicks do in fact trade Kristaps Porzingis, it will be interesting to see what kind of return they get for an injured player.
