Remember that time when Kristaps Porzingis could have been traded away from the New York Knicks?

Porzingis does, too.

When Phil Jackson was still President of Basketball Operations for the Knicks, he and Porzingis didn't have the best of relationships. The Latvian center didn't even attend his exit meeting with Jackson last year after the season was over.

As a result, there was rampant speculation that Porzingis would be traded. One name that was thrown around as a replacement was Chicago Bulls forward Lauri Markkanen, who had yet to enter the NBA draft at the time.

Porzingis recalled that time in this career before the Knicks were set to play the Bulls, per Ian Begley of ESPN.

Markkanen has been a nice player for the Bulls so far this year. He's shown he can shoot the ball, and is averaging 14.3 points and 7.9 rebounds, per Basketball Reference.

But he's no Porzingis.

Or should we say Porzingod. Or The Unicorn. Or Lizard. The Knicks star might have too many nicknames.

It's great to see that Porzingis still remembers when his name was being mentioned in trade talks last season. It likely gives him the motivation to prove haters wrong.

Also, props to Porzingis for reading Twitter.
