With last season being Mindaugas Kuzminskas' rookie year in the NBA, he looked up to Kristaps Porzingis to guide him as he adjusts to the league's grind. They built a good relationship which also translated to productive stints on the floor whenever they were both fielded in.

However this summer, the two will not be teammates, as they will be representing their respective countries in the EuroBasket competition. Ahead of their matchup this weekend, the 7-foot-3 Latvian international sent a message to Kuzminskas, via Snapchat, that serves as a warning to him of what to expect when they face each other.

Both players are expected to play a huge part for their teams as they are having successful careers in the NBA. They are also getting exposure to play against the best players in the world, which gives them the opportunity to further develop their games.

There will certainly be one of them who will be defeated in their matchup, but one thing that may lessen the disappointment Porzingis or Kuzminskas will feel, is knowing that one of them will have a better chance of advancing in the tournament. It may also add to the confidence one of them will have once the NBA season starts.
