In his third season in the league, New York Knicks forward Kristaps Porzingis has further emerged as one of the young rising stars.

This maturation for Porzingis extends well off the court as he revealed to Fred Kerber of the New York Post that he studies the interview habits and demeanor of LeBron James, Michael Jordan, and Kobe Bryant.

“Oh yeah, of course,” Porzingis said Sunday after practice in Tarrytown. “There are a lot of things. Obviously off-the-court stuff, not just LeBron, but more and more [guys]. Kobe, Jordan, I watched a lot of their interviews and learned how they talked to people and how they do things off the court. But [James] also. There are a lot of things you can learn from guys like that.”

The 22-year-old Knicks unicorn has taken to find out other ways to further his development even in the minute details. This is one of the unique ways to carry himself in a more professional manner off the court.

Kristaps Porzingis has already taken that approach on the court, currently ranking third in the league in scoring at a career-high 30.4 points per game. His stellar play has led to the Knicks getting off to a strong start holding a 7-5 record through the first 12 games including winning seven out of the last nine games.

With Porzingis going the extra length with his maturation process, it could be an encouraging sign of what may come over the next decade or so for the Knicks.
