Marcus Morris and the New York Knicks have strong mutual interest in running it back next season.

According to Ian Begley of SNY, one team in touch with the Knicks recently was left with the impression that Morris and New York have strong mutual interest in reaching an agreement in free agency after this season ends:

But it's worth noting that at least one team in touch with the Knicks recently was left with the impression that Marcus Morris and New York have strong mutual interest in reaching an agreement in free agency this summer, per SNY sources.

Morris signed a one-year, $15 million deal with the Knicks this past offseason. He originally agreed to sign with the San Antonio Spurs, but backed out of his deal. Morris also parted ways with his agent, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports.

In 41 games this season for the Knicks, Morris is averaging 19.2 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.4 assists. He’s shooting 43.8 percent from the field, 43.9 percent from beyond the arc and 81.5 percent from the free-throw line.

One would think the Knicks would want to trade Morris so they can get some draft picks in return. For what it’s worth, Morris has said in the past he doesn’t want to get traded and is built for New York.

So far, the Philadelphia 76ers and Los Angeles Clippers are among the teams to have reportedly shown interest in Morris.
