New York Knicks forward Marcus Morris will return from a two-game absence on Thursday against the Denver Nuggets after sustaining a mysterious neck injury, according to SNY's Ian Begley.

As it turns out, Morris suffered the injury when his 1-year-old son jumped on him in bed to wake him up:

NBA players have clauses in their contracts preventing them from dangerous sports and activities, but hardly anyone can prevent the innocent violence from a child who has yet to gain full awareness of controlling his limbs.

This heartwarming story could be the cause of smiles after a Bruce Lee-esque kick to the neck that put Morris out for the Knicks' last two losses, but they have lost seven in a row and are fighting the Golden State Warriors for the league's worst record.

Marcus Morris leads the team in scoring with 18.7 points per game, while also being one of the best rebounders on the club. He has been operating as the team's starting small forward and making the most of his placement, knocking down 52.4% from beyond the arc in the young season. Morris leads the Knicks in 3-point shooting and free-throw percentage (83.9%), giving them back a weapon they're sure to use in an attempt to snap out of their current funk.
