Apparently, former All-Star Metta World Peace does not think his time in the NBA is done. He's not talking about making a glorious comeback as a player — after all he's already 40 now — but as it turns out, he has been eyeing the post of the New York Knicks head coach.

The outspoken World Peace recently sat down with Baron Davis during the Business Inside the Game summit in Chicago (this was prior to the lockdown), and one of the items they discussed was World Peace's incessant desire to coach the Knicks, via Josh Martin of Closeup360.com.

“I don't really care, honestly, but I would take it. It's the only job I want.”

It doesn't really seem like World Peace doesn't care, as this is not the first time he's lobbied for the post. In December, the former Defensive Player of the Year also publicly announced his campaign for the head coaching job with the Knicks.

World Peace did not stop there. He went on to say that he has no time to work his way up and that he wants the Knicks head coaching position straight away.

“I'm not interested in being an assistant coach,” he added. “People is always saying, ‘Hey, why don't you wanna be an assistant?' Because I just don't want to. I want to go straight to the head job.”

There's the straight-shooting World Peace we've all learned to love through the years. Unfortunately for him, his extremely impressive persuasion skills might not prove enough to land him the job he has been dreaming of.
