The New York KnicksMichael Beasley just entered the franchise record books with his recent 20-point, 10-rebound game. On Monday, the Knicks faced off against the Brooklyn Nets and came away with 119-104 win with Beasley scoring 23 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.

According to NBC Boston’s Clevis Murray, this was Beasley’s fifth time to record a 20-10 game, making him the first player in franchise history to accomplish the feat as a reserve.

Beasley has found a home with the Knicks, playing a valuable role coming off the bench for the team that had recently traded its star player over the summer. The former number two pick in the 2008 draft has been playing with a renewed intensity, scoring 20 or more points 10 times, and grabbing 10 or more rebounds six times already this season.

In a year where the Knicks are once again losing more than they are winning, the resurgence of Beasley is a welcome sight for New York fans who are looking for a silver lining to what could be another difficult season.

Here are Beasley’s 20-10 games thus far this season:

  • December 21 vs. Boston Celtics, 102-93 win – 32 points, 12 rebounds
  • December 28 at San Antonio Spurs, 119-107 loss – 23 points, 12 rebounds
  • January 5 at Miami Heat, 107-103 loss – 20 points, 10 rebounds
  • January 10 vs. Chicago Bulls, 122-119 loss – 26 points, 12 rebounds
  • January 15 at Brooklyn Nets, 119-104 win – 23 points, 10 rebounds

The former Kansas State standout has been averaging 12.4 points and 4.7 rebounds in 19.2 minutes per game for New York. The Knicks’ next game is scheduled for Wednesday, January 17, as they face the Memphis Grizzlies on their homecourt.
