When Michael Beasley was brought in by the New York Knicks to their fold, he was expected to play a minuscule role mostly behind Kristaps Porzingis. However, the former second overall pick has been enjoying a resurgence to his career this season, producing solid numbers night in and night out.

After suffering an ankle injury last Friday versus the Miami Heat, Beasley was forced to miss the Knicks' game on Sunday. Understanding that sitting out games may affect his rhythm and conditioning, the veteran forward reportedly still tried his best to play against the Dallas Mavericks despite wearing a walking boot, according to Ian Begley of ESPN.

Beasley’s focus on contributing to his team’s cause was very evident in his attempt to see action on Sunday even if he’s not yet close to 100 percent. This could inspire his teammates in the long run, to step up their games as the Knicks look to make it to the playoffs for the first time in five years.

The good news for him at this point is that he could already suit up as early as their next game which is on Friday against the Minnesota Timberwolves if the walking boot is no longer needed.

Despite only seeing an average of 18.6 minutes in 33 games, Michael Beasley has been making the most of the playing time he's been given by Knicks coach Jeff Hornacek. He continues to provide the team with quality minutes, averaging 12.0 points, on 52.7 percent shooting from the field, to go along with 4.9 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game.
