The New York Knicks were in no rush to make their next hire for a head coach, but now that they have interviewed nearly a dozen candidates, they are expected to make their decision soon.

According to Marc Stein of The New York Times, the Knicks have narrowed their search down to three main guys, David Blatt, Mike Budenholzer and David Fizdale.

It isn't clear which one of these guys is a frontrunner, but based on the three names left, it's clear the Knicks want a guy who has NBA coaching experience instead of giving someone his first chance in the NBA.

Blatt is considered one of the best Euroleague coaches ever, but he and LeBron James just couldn't see eye to eye and that led to his time being cut short with the Cleveland Cavaliers. With the Knicks not having such a strong personality, this might be a good spot for him to get back into the NBA.

Budenholzer really did a lot of incredible work with the Atlanta Hawks, but with the team going through a rebuild, they mutually decided to part ways.

Fizdale is considered one of the best defensive minds in the NBA, and he too was forced out of Memphis after he and Marc Gasol couldn't see eye to eye. Fizdale is a hot name for teams with openings this offseason and there is a chance that he could get offered a few coaching jobs in the near future.
