The New York Knicks are finalizing deals that will bring recently-hired play caller Tom Thibodeau's coaching staff into shape. According to a report from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Knickerbockers are looking to add Mike Woodson to Thibs' staff as an assistant.

Along with Woodson, Woj noted that the Knicks are looking to add Andy Greer and Dice Yoshimoto to the coaching staff as well. Greer (assistant) and Yoshimoto (video coordinator) have both served as assistants for Thibodeau in the past.

This is an interesting move by the Knicks, as Woodson has actually served as a coach for the team in the past — both assistant and head. Overall, though, the idea of bring Woody back is being received well by fans of the team.

Unfortunately, the Knicks finished the 2019-20 campaign with a 21-45 overall record, which left them out of the postseason hunt. There was some hope that New York would win a high draft pick at this year's lottery, but the team ultimately fell to No. 8 overall.

Will the Knicks be looking to deal in the upcoming draft, or will they hang on to their No. 8 selection? They could look to trade the pick in a package for proven talent, or hang on to it in hopes of landing a high-caliber player in that slot. Another option may be moving up (or down) in the draft. For now, we'll have to wait and see what Thibs and his staff have in mind for the future of the team.
