New York Knicks center Mitchell Robinson tweeted and subsequently deleted a brief statement regarding his lack of playing time following the team's loss to the Utah Jazz on Tuesday.

Robinson sent out a late-night tweet with the caption “One day they'll let me play” before almost immediately deleting the tweet.

The tweet was exceedingly strange in nature, considering Robinson has started every game and played heavy minutes.

Robinson is averaging a career-high 29.6 minutes through the first 19 games of the season, also racking up 9.1 points, 8.3 rebounds, 1.7 blocks and 1.2 steals. He played over 30 minutes in Tuesday's loss to the Jazz, finishing the contest with seven points, seven boards and a pair of blocks.

What exactly was Robinson referring to in the since-deleted tweet? It is possible he wants a bigger role in New York's offense.

The 22-year-old has consistently hinted at a desire to shoot the 3-ball over the course of the past year-plus, though he has yet to take a single triple in 146 career NBA games.

Robinson's former high school coach, Butch Stockton, previously told the New York Post he felt Knicks coaches should allow the young center to expand his game:

“If I was him, I’d be frustrated a bit,” Stockton told The Post. “In high school, he hit them at 35, 40 percent, but that’s not the NBA 3-point line.”

Maybe Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau has already told Robinson not to spend time on the perimeter shooting 3s. After all, Robinson does excel on the offensive glass (3.8 per game).

Nevertheless, it seems something about New York's system has drawn Robinson's ire.
