New York Knicks rookie center Mitchell Robinson has been having an undeniably great season. The 7-foot-1 big man had another monster game tonight in New York's win over the Orlando Magic, racking up 17 points and 14 rebounds with six blocks and three steals.

By doing so, he became just the seventh rookie in the last 30 years to record a double-double with five or more blocks in back-to-back games, according to the NBA's official stats page.

The other six players — David Robinson, Dikembe Mutombo, Shaquille O'Neal, Alonzo Mourning, Tim Duncan and Yao Ming — all went on to become stars so Robinson is in great company here. For the season, Robinson is averaging 6.2 points and 4.8 rebounds, but he's really been coming on strong lately.

He's received more consistent playing time the past few weeks, averaging 10.2 points, 8.3 rebounds and 3.0 blocks in the month of February. Robinson had a bumpy road to the NBA, as eligibility issues caused him to not be allowed to play college basketball.

His draft stock tumbled as a result, and he ended up falling into the second round where the Knicks got him with the 36th pick. That looks like a steal for the Knickerbockers now, as Robinson can be a building block moving forward.

The Knicks have a pivotal offseason ahead of them, during which they will hope to use their two max-salary slots to lure prized free agents.

If they're successful in landing big names like Kyrie Irving or Kevin Durant, they'll need cheap young players to build out the roster. Right now, it's looking like Robinson can be exactly that — a youngster who can be a major part of the Knicks' future.
