Los Angeles Lakers rookie guard Lonzo Ball turned heads Tuesday night way before he even took the floor of the Madison Square Garden. When Ball arrived at the arena, he was seen wearing a hoodie emblazoned with the cover of Nas’ Illmatic album cover but with a twist. Instead of young Nas’ face on it, Lonzo had it replaced with his own mug.

This, of course, didn’t sit well with a lot of people of New York, where Nas came from. Even Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell had something to say about it.

This wasn’t even the genesis of Ball’s apparent disrespect of the legendary rapper. A few months ago, Ball implied that Nas is irrelevant in today’ hip-hop landscape.

Nas, however, got the last laugh Tuesday, as Ball and the Lakers were dealt with a 113-109 loss in overtime, wasting what was a productive day for the former UCLA Bruin. Ball finished the game with 17 points, six assists, and eight rebounds in 40 minutes of play.

It ain't hard to tell how happy Nas was the of the game's result, as he rubbed a little bit more salt to Ball’s wounds by congratulating the Knicks on Instagram.
