While most fans of the New York Knicks are still upset about the outcome of their offseason, Nate Robinson believes his former team is headed towards the right direction.

In an interview with Ian Begley of SNY TV, Robinson said that he likes how the Knicks are building the team, focusing their attention on the young guys. He singled out Julius Randle, whose work ethic was praised by the three-time Slam Dunk contest winner.

“They're building their team as a real team,” Robinson said. “Young guys, Julius Randle a hard worker, I love his game. I've been watching him since high school as well so it's just pretty cool to get kind of the right fit type of guys in here. Really young, a young core of the team. And I think if they can just continue to work and gel together as a unit, I think they'll be OK. The East is wide open. A lot of guys are going out West, so they've just got to take advantage, jump on teams early in the season so they don't got to do it later and I think they'll be alright.”

Robinson played his first five NBA seasons with the Knicks, and up to this point, he's still rooting for the team to win a championship in the future. It may be a long, grueling process, but for Nate, it will all be worth it in the end.

The Knicks may have failed to land the top free agents that they went after, but they still have promising young players in Randle, Dennis Smith Jr., Mitchell Robinson, Kevin Knox and RJ Barrett.
