Over the past couple of years, the New York Knicks haven't been able to build a competitive roster. They were one of the worst teams in the league last season, and just when everybody thought that they'd be getting the first overall pick in the draft, as well as two All-Star free agents, they ended up getting none.

It seems that some of the league's best players are not interested in joining the Knicks, something that former NBA point guard Nate Robinson doesn't understand. In his interview with Ian Begley of SNYTV, he said that playing for the Knicks is an opportunity that he'd never pass on.

“Guys are going to choose where they want to go. Me personally I would never choose any team over the New York Knicks. I had a great opportunity, an awesome time here in New York. It was great and I don't understand how guys can pass up on it.

Most of the Knicks' misfortunes are being blamed on its owner, James Dolan's incompetence as an owner and even Robinson acknowledges that. Still, the 3-time Slam Dunk contest champ is optimistic that Dolan will figure things out soon.

“Hopefully, James Dolan, you've got to figure out something, man. You've got to land a big name. But it's pretty cool: you've got RJ Barrett coming in, a rookie that's going to help the team out a lot. And you've got to build from there.”

It is unclear when the Knicks will be able to get back to being a championship, or even playoff contender, but Robinson is keeping his faith with the team that has given him the opportunity to shine in the NBA. He likes the direction that the team is headed, and he hopes that things will get better moving forward.
