The New York Knicks picked up their second consecutive win on Friday night after they came from behind to beat the Sacramento Kings, marking the first time that the Knicks have recorded back-to-back wins.

Knicks interim head coach Mike Miller and forward Julius Randle were emphatic stating just how important it was to earn such a hard-fought win (via ESPN):

“We were in positions where we bent a few times but we didn't break,” New York interim coach Mike Miller said. “Terrific effort, so many good performances, and showing character to keep coming back when you get down.”

“It's a good feeling,” forward Julius Randle said. “We just turned up our intensity and our aggressiveness. The bench did a great job coming in and playing well. We just kept fighting, locked into the details, and came out with a win.”

This is the second straight game that the Knicks have had to fight every possession. They defeated the Golden State Warriors in overtime on Wednesday, then they trailed the Kings by as many as 16 points on Friday.

New York went on 11-2 run to end the third quarter, and the second unit made major contributions.

Backup point guard Elfrid Payton scored seven of his 16 points in the fourth quarter and finished with the highest plus-minus (+19) of any player that took the floor. Mitchell Robinson scored 14 points and added nine rebounds, and Damyean Dotson scored 11 points while grabbing three boards dishing out three assists in just 17 minutes of action.

The Knicks still sit at 6-20 and last in the Eastern Conference, but perhaps Miller can inspire New York to be more respectable.
