The New York Knicks are expected to part ways with veteran big man Joakim Noah before the NBA season begins, according to a report.

Per 2018 unwritten rules, Shams Charania broke the news on the mean streets of Twitter.

Many New York Knicks fans have been split on Joakim Noah. While Noah hasn't been within three galaxies the kind of player he was when with the Chicago Bulls, there remains a lunatic faction of Knicks fans who believe he could have an impact on the franchise if given a chance.

Other Knicks fans — the sane variety — realize Phil Jackson overpaid for a player who was on a steep decline for some period of time, and that the franchise needed to try to get out of this situation before it got any worse. After all, banged up players who are aging poorly don't usually do anything other than continue to age and get even more banged up.

Science and all that jazz.

Anyway, the interesting thing to follow here is if the Knicks are somehow, through magic one can only suppose, find someone willing to trade for him or if they will indeed have to waive the big man.

The good news? Time will tell!

Hooray.
