The New York Knicks have shut down the team's training facility after three employees tested positive for COVID-19, the franchise formally announced through an official statement on Tuesday.

With the Knicks now slated to encounter a deep cleaning of the team's training facility, the team also pointed out that the three positive tests stemmed from “routine screenings.”

Most importantly, all three employees are currently quarantining and are all asymptomatic at this time.

The Knicks were not part of the NBA restart down in Orlando, as New York found itself at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings from the jump in 2019-20. However, things have seemingly gone well for New York early on in the 2020-21 offseason, as they did manage to hire longtime NBA head coach Tom Thibodeau.

With the Knicks having not played a single regular season game since all the way back in March, it will be interesting to see what product New York ultimately puts out on the court come December. As it stands today, the ‘Bockers own the No. 8 overall pick in the first round of the 2020 NBA Draft.

The Knicks have a rare opportunity to turn things around fairly quickly moving forward after struggling year after year. They have not reached the postseason since back in the 2012-13 season when Carmelo Anthony was still with the team.
