Obi Toppin isn't playing in the NBA Las Vegas Summer League. But some fans apparently think they're seeing the New York Knicks forward competing in a different uniform.

But that's apparently what's been happening as Phoenix Suns sophomore Ish Wainright continues to get misrecognized as Obi Toppin:

Say bruh. If another person come up to me calling @obitoppin1, we getting in the gloves. He’s bald , I got hair 🤣🤣

It's not something that hasn't been noticed in the past as fans have made the connection on social media, and apparently in real life as well. No word yet if Toppin is down to ditch the hardcourt for the four corners of a boxing ring in response to the Suns forward's tweet in jest.

While Obi Toppin has been in the league longer than Ish Wainright, he's actually much younger than his lookalike. The Knicks third year man, who came into the league at a relatively older 22 years old, will still be just 24 once the 2022-23 season rolls around. Wainright, meanwhile, will be the ripe old age of 28 in a couple of months.

Wainright played all four years in Baylor but wasn't on the NBA radar back in 2017. He tried out for a stint with the Buffalo Bills in the NFL but didn't make the final roster. He then made his way overseas and clearly honed his skills well enough to make it to an NBA roster after years of working on his game. Obi Toppin could do much worse when it comes to his doppelganger.
