The New York Knicks are expected to talk to Duke University standout RJ Barrett on Wednesday.

The Knicks will be selecting third overall in the 2019 NBA Draft, which placed them in a position to go after Barrett. The Knicks will immediately sit down with the Canadian prospect, who was once considered as the best player in college basketball last season before Zion Williamson took the scene by storm.

Barrett also had a terrific season with the Blue Devils in his lone year in college. The Ontario native averaged 22.6 points to go along with 7.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. He helped Duke earn one of the top seeds in the NCAA National Tournament, and showed flashes of brilliance.

In their first-round showdown North Dakota State, he had a double-double with 26 points and 14 rebounds. He had another one against Virginia Tech where he notched 18 points and 11 rebounds in the Sweet 16. However, their run ended in a 68-67 loss to Michigan State in the Elite 8, where he posted 21 points and six rebounds for the Blue Devils.

Barrett is projected to be picked third behind Williamson and Murray State standout Ja Morant. The New Orleans Pelicans will pick first, while the Memphis Grizzlies will select second. The Los Angeles Lakers and the Cleveland Cavaliers round up the top five in the 2019 NBA Draft.
